Mitchell Announces Corona Virus Plan
Dear Valued Customer,
Our company has implemented a contingency plan to mitigate the effect of the Corona Virus on our business. Our controlled response has been to protect our employees and to closely monitor our offices and warehouses in order to maintain germ-free environments so that we can continue to provide our customers with excellent service and delivery with the least amount of disruption possible.
To achieve these objectives, we have implemented common sense practices in the workplace, such as:
• Communicating updates and guidance from the CDC at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019- ncov/about/index.html via postings in public areas and company-wide emails notifications
• Providing hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes and spray in offices, warehouses, break rooms and rest rooms
• Encouraging frequent washing of hands with soap and hot water
• Regular disinfecting of commonly used surfaces such as doorknobs, fax machines, keyboards, remote controls, coffee makers, etc., using a solution of 10 parts water to 1 part bleach per CDC guidelines.
• Minimizing direct hand-to-hand contact with drivers, couriers and delivery personnel, while practicing good hygiene etiquette (covering mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing).
We have provided most employees with the ability to work from home, and encourage them to do so if they are not feeling well or if they need to take care of a family member who is ill or a child whose school classes have been cancelled. Our telecommuting guidelines remain flexible and supportive of each employee’s individual circumstances.
We have reviewed travel policies and issued directives to curtail non-essential domestic travel and have put a temporary ban on international travel. We have made teleconferencing available so that it may provide an alternative means for employees to attend off-site meetings.
We will act to maintain confidentiality regarding our employees and their suspected or diagnosed conditions and maintain a work environment that promotes safety, loyalty and job security.
